New territory.
I’m a fairly forward-thinking kind of person open to new concepts, experiences, and better ways of doing things. But when a friend, Joel, who I hadn’t seen in years, told me he had perfected a non-surgical method for male enhancement, specifically penis enlargement, I felt a mixture of surprise, skepticism and intrigue.
I know what you’re thinking: “uh….where is this going?” Well, Joel is an anesthesiologist and works several days a week in that role and a couple other days making men, well, bigger. And at over $10,000 per treatment, Joel’s side business is thriving. He’s now franchising his company and letting doctors across the country perform similar procedures using his technique.
Enter my brother, Jordan. Jordan is a surgeon, and after hearing about Joel’s company, signed up and opened his own franchise in Phoenix. But with no background in social media and web design, Jordan enlisted my help to handle that side of the business.
There are many challenges with this product, not the least of which is educating men about a product of this type that actually works, lives up to the hype. This is a field that, for years, has been fraught with ineffective, dangerous treatments. But this was the real thing.
My challenge was to describe the procedure just enough to get men interested and willing to act without inundating them with difficult medical jargon. I was also tasked with packaging the services in an easy-to-understand manner that made it easy to determine just which procedures were right for them — and at a variety of price points.
My Role: A partner in the project, my role was to shape the overall communications about the procedure. Jordan has the medical expertise and had to approve of all the text.
My Impact: Along with creating the pages on the website, I also generated a content strategy that attracted users to the site. Only in its fourth full month, the company has generated thousands of dollars in revenue, in part, through my efforts.
Also, I created the Thunderbird Men’s Health logo. I think it effectively embodies an overall masculine feel of the brand and conveys a sense of strength, freedom, growth, and potential.
